Baby Sounds & Noises

As a mom I  trust my baby monitor quiet a lot.  When I found out I was expecting I knew I had to buy a baby monitor no one really told me. I didn't go for the camera monitor or the high-end movement sensor monitor they can be quiet expensive. I selected the 20 DLLs fisher price monitor; I cant really call it old school because that would mean having no monitor at all.

Having said that, I believe every mother/parent will develop her own sound and baby dictionary in her brain.  A  mother/parent will know if  a baby sounds means Im tired, Im awake, I have a dirty diaper, Im playing with my toys and so many  more things. It is amazing the connection we develop with our children and the  communication surpasses language and starts with sounds, noises, sign language. I believe this type of communication is a stepping stone to a great verbal communication in the long run. yet there is always the exception to the rule.

In this post I just wanted to create an awareness of the unique connection of parent-baby communication from very early on.

What mother would say they understand what their friends baby is saying at all times? I can probably decipher what is going on with m y baby in a second yet when trying to  understand/ decipher what another friends child is needing or saying is quiet hard and in need of an interpreter ( most probably their parent)- and I'm talking about babies not older speaking children and even then sometimes is quiet the adventure.  Most families develop unique words for their nap time, bottle of milk, going to the bath room , snacks an many more..  I have heard so many here are some: " minis" '"eshe" " tutu" " mimi" "chupis" nanai""oko" just to mentions some.. Im sure there are thousands..
And don't take me wrong Im not criticizing on the other hand I embrace it and believe it greats a stronger bond between the child and the parent.

So to the new mom out there wether or not you get the high end baby monitor know that you will naturally develop an understanding what every little sound coming out of that precious being means.

I hope this post helps a mom out there.

 Much love,

Anny.

My favorite Pregnancy Movies

My favorite pregnancy/baby movies are  "Babies" & "The Business of being born"

I could give you the summary of each movie but I hope that you take the time to see these movies in an objective way; and form your own opinions.

The first movie the "Babies" I loved! it was relaxing and eye opening on how babies develop in any type of environment and thrive and live healthy lives as long as there is love. And even when we think to judge how a kid is being raised across the country babies are smarter than we think and all babies deserve to live in an enviroment filled with love. Mother nature is not a force to be reckon with and wiser than we can imagine.

Im sure you can find this movie on line, on youtube or on your local library even on any streaming movie provider (netflix, hulu, etc.) but just in case here is the link  i found:

"The busines of being born"The second movie I am recommending is a movie I stumble upon by accident. Right after I found out I was expecting I wanted to know everything! I mean everything about the delivery, what happens? why and what is it no one talks about it?
Well this movie was a big eye opening on the history on how birthing has evolved in the USA and the world i guess. It was a big way to start a conversation with my husband on what kind a doctor and hospital or venue we wanted to give birth to our baby.
This movie woke up a sense of " I must trust my doctor" If Im having an epidural I want it to be on my terms, when is an induction safer ? when is a C section my only option?..I made it my goal to be well informed so I could make the best decisions for me and my baby. I didn't automatically dismissed any options; it just opened my eyes a bit more.

Here is the link to that movie:

If there is something I learn is the more questions I asked the doctor the more comfortable i felt. Informing my self  the more knowledgeable I was the less I would  have to worry that special day. The  less questions I had that day the more focused I was on most important task in my  life, delivering my baby.
I hope this post helps some mom out there.
 Much love,

Anny.

Things to think about before going in to delivery room

Things to think about before going into delivery room.

Who you want in the room with you from your family members?

Do you now your nurse or a midwife nurse?

Do you want an Iv or mobility?

Now your birth plan and now you can change it at any time.

DO you know what to do when your water breaks?

Bring extra clothing for you and the baby

Have a pediatrician or Talk to the one assigned to you at birth

If you are breastfeed ask for an expert to help you. Now that there is always a risk your baby will be allergic to your milk.

Who will you assign  to help you with the paper work at the hospital?

Who will drive you home?

This post I just wanted to throw the possibilities and topics out there.

hope this post helps a mom out there.

Much Love,

Anny.
